Appalachian Federal Credit Union realizes the importance of protecting the privacy of our members' personal information. It is our policy to protect that information through whatever means, whether it be phone, fax, internet, or mail. We will continue to protect information entrusted to us by our members and will not sell member information to non-affiliated third parties.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We limit the collection and use of member information that we require to deliver quality member service. This includes advising members about our products and services, helping us respond to their questions and applications, as well as to provide account information members may request. Appalachian Federal Credit Union does not share information about our members with other companies except in an effort to provide member service either through the credit union or to make special offers available that we feel may be of interest to our members. If any of our vendor relationships require disclosure of member information in order to provide service to our members, we will require that the vendor not use member information for any other purpose.

Please be advised that we may disclose information on our member's accounts or information contained in member files to an appropriate third party, such as a credit bureau. We may also provide information to regulatory authorities or law enforcement in accordance with applicable law.

Internet Privacy

The Appalachian Federal Credit Union website does not use SSL (secure socket layer) protection or any kind of encryption on certain components of the website such as rate schedules and informational pages. The Credit Union will protect your personal information from any known assailants. The Appalachian Federal Credit Union website is in no way connected to the Credit Union accounts server.  Any information requested on this website is subject to user discretion and is not mandatory for members or non-members.
